An 03 propelling a 108 trailer car has never failed to get up the incline at Wirksworth (The steepest standard gauge passenger carrying line in the UK, overal 1 in 30. steepest 1 in 26). We did have to set back for another go at the incline last Sunday on the first Santa Train with our two car 101 Met Cam, but as I said, no sanders! Made it second time! If it really got to be a problem we always have the Class 20! Best wishes, John H-T. |

However if someone wants to use a couple of 08s to recreate a Class 13 to fill a gap in preservation that is another matter, bit like the Saint, Grange and County projects: recycling parts to create missing classes! Best wishes for Christmas and 2010. John H-T. |
