siemens velaro e320
has anyone any idea why the new siemens velaro e320 trains ordered by eurostar are going to be built in a standard 2 bogies ber car design, rather than the french inspired design of bogies between the carriages used on the existing eurostar stock (class 373). in theory, the latter is lighter on the rails and has less track wear and accelleration. i know the alstom AGV has been declined because it is not adapted for HS1, and that existing siemens velaro trains have two bogies per car because they are equipped with tilting ability, but the new trains won't be. so why have they gone for an old fashioned and seemingly slower design?
