Railway Tunnels handed over to Cycle Charity
Two disused railway tunnels near Bath have been handed over to the cycling charity Sustrans. The tunnals were on the Somerset & Dorset Railway line.

I hope there was no thoughts on a reopening for this stretch of line.

Nice to see some form of restoration of THE classic S & D route, like other parts, it is slowly reawakening. Personally speaking, any form of re use rather than left abandoned, is fine by me, as in walking/cycling, but most of all rail reinstatement of course!!!

I fully agree with you ACE in that any leisure use is better than decay. I do remember, some 30 years or so ago, driving my car from the station at Midsomer Norton northwards along the remains of the track bed. It was only a few hundred yards but it felt good! Wish I had a Range Rover back then, I would have gone further!
