Train company Network Rail applies to build its new national centre in Buckinghamshire, which could create up to 3,000 jobs.

They should locate it in a railway town, slap bang in the middle of a rail junction, so they remind the staff exactly what the job is all about and where they fit in. I have worked in industry offices miles from the front line in my job, and it just isn't the same as being a short distance from the coal face.

The nearest railway town would be Wol;verton The works is not a third of what it was shame
