Channel 4 Documentary - Steam Trains and ashes

Hello all,

Sorry to bother you on here, but I had a quick question that you may be able to help out with.

I'm writing from a television production company called Minnow Films and we are currently making a documentary for Channel 4 that is looking at some of the more creative things people are now doing with their loved one's ashes.

I'm aware that it is possible to put ashes in in steam trains and I wondered if anyone might be aware of any such events/displays being planned over the coming months?

If you feel you might be able to help with my research, please do get in touch. You can reach me on 0203 051 5352 or by email at
[email protected]

Thanks for your time

Carla

My personal request upon dying, oddly enough.

I'm aware of it happening a few times. I don't know of any *plans* but perhaps enquiring with preserved railways is the best bet, they run Steam regularly enough and can offer these services.

Might find it difficult to prove it dangerous to the 'dear departed' although smuts in the eye could cause others some problems. I sometimes think that to be shaken out of a carriage on the RHDR might be a good way to go.

As someone who works in Health & Safety, I have to ask the question;

"Eh?"

Course they wouldn't.
