I've recently obtained a Hornby Bullied Q1 in BR Black. I already had a Bachmann Mainline Royal Scot in BR Green. Was there ever an occasion when these two classes would work along side one another, possibly on the S&D? I've already got the Pines Express Coach Pack, I didn't really intend to get The Pines Express but I ordered three mk1s and that is what I got, I was just expecting your run of the mill mk1s.

According to the 'Q1 Masterclass' article in Model Rail of January 2005, Q1's never ventured onto the S&D. Occasional passenger use was seen around Bournemouth, and they were reported working into Reading from Guildford.

Interesting.
So it's a question of what Royal Scots came South into SR Territory??? (Just though that wouldnt it be fantastic if the "Railway Observer" was electronic, so that you could just type in the loco of your choice and come up with the refs. I spent weeks reading through them just to track down occasional sightings of my favourite Merchant Navy) |

Surely there must have been occassional workings of Scots into Reading (or even Brighton) on inter regional services? Or did all services get an engine change at Banbury? You must excuse my ignorance on these matters.
