Hello - and a few videos for you...

Hi,

I cant claim to know anywhere near enough about railways to call myself an enthusiast, but I find myself drawn towards them.

I visited Rutland Railway Museum yesterday, and took hundreds of photos, and did a bit of filming. I did a search here for 'Rutland' and nothing came up, so I thought you all might be interested to see what went on there.

IIRC Rutland Railway is part of an old ironstone quarry line, and the museum there is dedicated to quarry type engines and rolling stock.

Anyway, heres the vids (only filmed at 320x240, but I hope the amount of activity makes up for that!) :

Struggling Shunter : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj8v4PwHL-w
Cab Ride : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=F1ceGLqvRPE
Shunting : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=t1pvqVoo3io

If any of that encourages other people to visit then thats my thanks to the RRM for the great day me and the Missus had.

Great forum guys.

Regards,

H.

Welcome. I also loved the struggling shunter video. As I watched it I was wondering "what happens next?" :- a broken coupling perhaps?

Then I began to wonder if once the little shunter had got the big shunter moving, it would then have to stop it, and there would be a shot of the little shunter gracefully sliding down the hill with its wheels locked.

At some places I know, the guy in the orange boiler suit would have tried to push it
