Rail services hit by festive work (BBC News)

Major engineering works will close parts of Scotland's rail network over the festive holiday season.

Typical - People cant return home using trains at christmas when they would probadly use them most (except workers going to work) and the rail staff have to work when they could be at home celebrating in the warm.

Bet the manager who thought this one out is on holiday abroad avoiding the flak when this happens spending this huge bonus

The level of engineering work at weekends and holidays really is dreadful.

However there is a sea change occurring within Nitwit Rail, and they've stated that in future they will be looking to make only partial closures of lines. The most likely option is Single Line Working, which can be painfully slow, but surely better than the current situation wher the TOCs just turn their backs on their customers ?

As Foghut says, I think Single Line Working would be better
