Hi My late Step Dad was a devout fan of Steam Trains and over the course of the years he amassed a massive number of transparencies and stills of mostly preserved steam engines and the bits that go with them. i now have all of these in my possession and i need to find a home for them. If any member of the forum is interested perhaps they would like to let me know but don't ask me for details cause I know nothing.

Welcome to the Forum, cyanide. It would be great if you could post them into the Gallery here for posterity. Some of the more experienced members here will help with the technicalities of doing this. It's great that you want to preserve these precious images as heaven knows how many irreplaceable photos have ended up in the bin over the years.

I doubt very much if cyanide (!) has either the time or the inclination to scan all those images for our benefit. I think he just wants to get rid of them... to a good home of course. Maybe one of our members who lives down that way can get in touch?

In your area you will not be too far from the Swanage railway, Mid Hants Railway and a bit further away the Bluebell Railway.
I think that any of these would welcome a photo collection especially the Bluebell who do maintain an Archive collection from a number of photographers already. http://www.bluebell-railway-museum.co.uk/ |
