Ribble Steam Railway Gala 16th-17th Feb.
Ribble Steam Railway Gala this weekend.
A group of us from Wirksworth are there with Ferybridge No.3. I am rostered on the footplate on Saturday and will be with the Ecclesboune Valley Railway Display on the Sunday. Looks very nice John and one I have yet to visit. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend this one due to family commitments. I will later in the year at some stage I am sure.
I am going to either the Nene Valley or Churnett valley next week, not quite figured out which yet? Anyway I wish you all well, have a successful weekend, and I am sure great fun will be had by all. All the best Phil

Had a great weekend with wonderful hospitality from the Railway. No. 3 did all that was asked of her, a great start to the new season, especially after the race to get winter maintenance done so that she could attend the Gala.
Great to meet Alan line side on Sunday. I was on the footplate all day Saturday. Got home 9.30pm last night ready for a hot bath and my own bed! Ribble Steam railway is a great place for photography, so if you haven't been, go to the next Gala. However I can't promise the light will be as good as it was this weekend. Be sure to go and spend some money there, even if you don't ride the trains. They do a good bacon bap in the cafe! Will post a few photo late. Best wishes, John H-T.
