Hello. Can you help me identify this station?
Hi, I have an old photo of what I believe to be a railway station and wondered whether anyone recognised it? I think it may be Bickley Station in Kent, but am not sure. The advertising board on the building, Claxton & Co. Ltd hasnt really given me any answers, but perhaps somebody knows something about the building. Any help really appreciated. Thanks.

hi,
thanks for yourr quick response to my question. your reply has been reallyhelpful, as that company is definitely the same as that advertised on the buildin on my photo. the couple are my husbands grandfather and grandmother, and it was taken in 1936. It does look very similar to the outside of Bickley station in Kent and that is what made me think of it. The couple used to live in Shortlands Kent, and Bickley was on that line, as I suppose Ramsgate may have been to. But quite why they had their photo taken there is still a mystery to me!!!! Thanks for your help. I will try and find out a bit more about Ramsgate and the company now. |

I have had some information from a Ramsgate history group, who from personal memories thinks the photo may be that of a building in the railway station goods yard in Newington Road which opened in 1926. The site is now a maintenance facility for high speed trains. He cant find any photographic evidence of this though, and wondered whether anybody had any information about it? Thanks
