Although I retired before Bob became Gen Sec of RMT, I had nothing short of total admiration for him following on from where the Late Jimmy Knapp left off.

From 1982 to 2005, I was a guard on British Rail and all the other Companies that came after this.
With a fellow guard from the Mill, we went to Unity House so we could both have our Long service badges given to us by the man himself. In time to come, BoB Crow will be seen as one of the best Trade Union leaders that the that there has been in this country, and history will tell the the tail of a proper working man. Rest in Peace BoB The RMT badge above was given to me by the man himself. |

An amazing man, a man who didn't recognise class, and was gifted with a good sense of dry humour.
