I have just joined has my son has given me an old trainset of his to keep me amused in my retirement. Unfortunately I started my Trainspotting days in 1959 at Wolverhampton where we luckily had a High Level Station which had been LMS and the Low Level Station which had been the GWR not to mention the current BR trains running on both regions along with the then new 125 diesel express trains (I never did take to engines that didn't have steam and fire). So now I am trying to gather information on both stations for that period. Any help would be appreciated and reciprocated. Tarrah for now.

Hello colin david easson and welcome to the Railway Forum. By the time I arrived in the UK, there were no steam trains running (1969) but I did fire and drive steam in Rhodesia.

Welcome to the Forum Colin. Did most of my spotting in late 50's at Birmingham New Street and Snow Hill so would have seen the same mix of steam as you did.
Best wishes, John H-T.
