Sweden: Male train drivers wear skirts after shorts row

I know from my time as a conductor that the trains on the local lines in Stockholm can get hot.
On Arriva, the train crew are not allowed to wear shorts, but nothing says that males cannot wear skirts:

This also happened 11 years ago at Connex:

I also must mention that the only uniform trousers avilable for the train crew are winter trousers with lining...

Very imaginative to wear skirts! Can't refuse on the grounds of sexism. Brilliant. They need to rewrite the rules now I guess. Good for them.
All the best

May I add my seal of approval for this action, if their employers are too inflexible to let their male drivers wear shorts in hot weather and they can wear skirts to keep within the rules, good for them!

Shorts or skirts on BR would have meant burnt knees. but I say good luck to the skirt wearers.

Shorts now allowed

Arriva have decided, after all the media cover, that shorts will be permitted to wear.

After all, in the Swedish Navy, Officers could wear shorts in tropical climate som shorts can be used in a uniform.

(Another solution for Arriva could have been a collection with winter and summer uniform, where the latter had trousers without lining...
That was the case at Connex/Veolia and Busslink when I worked there. But as a conductor I never used shorts, but as a busdriver I wore shorts (because buses are hot and only the upper body is visible for the passengers anyway)
