another level crossing fatality
I've just read that there has been another tragic accident today where the driver of a car was killed by a collision with a train at a level crossing:

Yes I saw this on the news Ian. Very tragic to have another level crossing incident! especially that leads to the death of someone. My sympathies go out to the family of the victim and also to the driver who must be very shook up about it.
I believe this crossing was gated with access only by authorised persons, would it have had a warning system of some sort to indicate a train is coming? No doubt we will know soon enough after the inquiry. Very sad Phil |

According to one local newspaper reporter, the car was DRAGGED along the track, while in reality, it was PUSHED. WHEN will these reporters get their facts correct in cases like this?
![]() I live not very far from the same crossing, and have No wish to summise what happened, but IF all users read the signs, and even used the phone either side to ensure nothing was approaching, there would be NO crashes like this. There again, WAS the car driver taken suddenly ill as he drove on to it? Only this man knows, but unable to speak for himself now. ![]()
