Hello & a quick question
Hello to All! I would be very grateful if any one could offer any advise as to which book/books are considered to be the best ones showing the disused and former railway lines across the country?
I really want to get one for my Dad for Fathers day, but I want to make sure I get him a good one and for obvious reasons I don't want to ask him which one he reads in the library as it will give away my plans! Any advise would be gratefully received as I am complete loss as to which book to get him. |

Jowetts Rail Atlas
Without any hesitation I would recommend A Jowett’s rail atlas, I spend hours looking at its artistic layouts. I would list this book as an encyclopaedia which would give reference to further research, on any particular closed line. I do not think it is still printed, and second-hand books are quite expensive. I was asked by the wife of a friend of mine to obtain a copy for her husband as a birthday present, the copy obtained was from a web bookshop at about £40.
