John
Welcome to the Forum and I'll echo the views of all the others in confirming what a friendly and knowledgeable place it is. I've been to Scarborough by train at some point in the distant past but I'm trying to visualise what it looks like in my mind (without success). I googled it but still the images didn't ring a bell at all. Never mind - I look forward to reading your posts about the railways in your area or anywhere else. |

Hello JRT
Welcome to the Forum. Scarborough a great place for holidays. Living in York during the fifties had our annual holiday there several times staying near the Esplanade (Holbeck Rd??) Last year went with wife for the day from Shipley, W York for a nostalgic day out. Northsted manor gardens was just the same. Previous visit being 2000 the lasy day out with my mother. In steam days the shed was 50E. I liked the D 49s but this may be all history to you. I hope you en joy your interest. A quedstion i do have is whatever happened to Scarborough football? I remember them playing Chelsea in the cup. Chris
