GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY (The Mansfield Railway)
I am particularly interested in the GCR between Kirkby South Junction and Clipston West Junction.

Hi there pbowler, welcome to the forum.
If it's just basic information you are loking for, I've got the OS maps from 1924 & 1954 showing details of that stretch of line when it was in full swing if it helps. There is still a stretch of old trackbed from Nottingham Road to Great Central Road in Mansfield which is adjacent to what was the GCR sidings on Baums Lane. Also, if you don't already have it, further info is available in Paul Anderson & Jack Cupit's book An Illustrated History of Mansfield's Railways. Feel free to get in touch if you are interested. |
