Wrexham & Shropshire near Finchley Rd today?
Today I on my way home from Uxbridge on the tube I passed a train I haven't seen before?
Bit of research and I discovered it was the old blue and grey livery of Wrexham & Shropshire and 1 coach in Virgin livery!? Does anyone know what it was doing? It was around 18:30ish? maybe a bit later |

Hello Chinny and welcome to the forum. On the table alongside my computer is the current issue of the Railway Magazine, open at page 78 and there is an article headed "Chiltern deploys it's former Wrexham stock". The article lists the Loco hauled services which Chiltern are running which includes the 18:30 Marylebone-Moor Street. I'd suggest that this was what you saw or perhaps the 18:06 Marylebone-Banbury. Depends where you were exactly.
Hope this helps. Regards, 62440. |

Must of been the 18:30, Thanks
I didn't know Wrexham even existed let alone their livery! Guess they didn't get round to repainting all the stock? but to my uneducated eye the blue and grey looked quite similar to the BR one back in the 70's which is why it got my attention |
