I have found some of my pics and my diaries from the period 1981 to 2007.
These contain the day to day jobs I worked and other comments. In some cases the engines we used were always noted. I will scan what I have with explanations of the what, why and wherefore from memory. I have a full photgraphic layout of Clayton West Jct. Signal Box, showing the signaling in use at the time of the box closing. Aslo pics of the the last passenger down to Clayton West, showing the signalman handing out the last single token, and him placing the last signal lever in the frame, when the last train left. This was in 1983. |

Have a look at this link and spend a few hours looking at a once great railway, now a footpath.

The attached link shows 2 pages from my NUR Diary showing the workings we performed with the HM Snow Plows. This took place on Thursday 26th January 1984.
S/o at 09:15 to plow the following routes;Huddersfield, Marsden, Huddersfield,Clayton West Junction,Denby Dale, Penistone , Barnsley Jct, Barnsley Stn, Reverse. Penistone photo stop, Huddersfield , BradleyWood Junction to Halifax, reverse, Elland, back to HM. Sign off at 17:15hrs. The man stood in the door of the 37 is a loco inspector from HM who went onto work for National Power.(Some one may recognise Him.) The Lectric locos were taken at the bottom of the steps leading to Wath Depot. This was in the Summer of 1980. As it is a few years ago I may have omitted some bits of info. http://www.imagebam.com/image/ad3fe5113707980 |

This job was the best on BR for geeting done. I have a set of pics showing me and my driver coming from HM to SB with a class 56. That was in the summer of 1994. |
