Trains disrupted after breakdown (BBC News)

Train services between the East Midlands and London continue to be disrupted after a train breaks down in Leicestershire.

What is/was the problem with it ?

Thinking about that, I heard one day last week of Eurotunnel trains I think it was being cancelled, because snow got in to the Horn trumpets !!!

In one report it's a breakdown, in the other one it's a derailment. Most confusing.

Seems it might be a mechanical breakdown but there was also track damage and fuel spillage.

Perhaps something dropped down and was hitting the track ?
