At what point will the traveller know for sure? I have to travel from Glasgow to Edinburgh and back on Saturday 20th. Train is my preference (of course) but 50p return (with bus pass) on Megabus has it's attractions!
Do I travel in hope or with certainty at almost no cost.
At risk of incurring the wrath of my friends in railways, this issue is a nonsense, the trains already travel part of the route with a driver and ticket collector only and no guard. Bob Crowe says this is about safety - why can't he be honest and say it's about preserving jobs at all costs. At least then more people would understand even though they might not agree. Safety card being overplayed again!
As a PS I had something delivered to me yesterday in a large cardboard carton on a pallet. Driver would only drop it off the tail lift but not take it into the house even with my help - Health and Safety, not allowed to lift. I took it off the pallet and carried it easily on my own.
Presumably a fireman's duties all now break health and safety recommendations.
Bah!
