Whenever there is a Spring tide (once a month) coinciding with an Easterly wind, there has been overtopping at Dawlish and it has occurred ever since the line was opened. If you care to surf the net, you will find that sea level has risen less than 1 inch in the last 100 years. Where the "headless chickens" get their figure of X metres rise from is anybodies business!
The Dawlish line will be there for the forseeable future. |
