New guy here!
I hail from western North Carolina in the US of A. Just finished a 13 month tour in Iraq as a civilian contractor and am taking a few months off. I'm planning a trip crosscountry to visit some railroad hotspots. May even go to Canada as I've always wanted to ride the Algoma Central Railway. Yeah,I know it's winter but I don't care! Maybe I can get some ideas from you good folks on where to go to satisfy my trainwatching addiction!

Welcome to the Forum Bridgewater. Hope you have a good trip and find plenty of good Railways. I had a very enjoyable visit to Roaring Camp Railroad near Santa Cruz in California last Easter. 3 Truck Shay up through the redwoods on some very steep grades. Photos in my Gallery.
