Hello, I'm David, live in Yorkshire (all my life) and am 65 years old, and interested in trains since I was 3 years old!!! My mother took me to Bradford Exchange station, I was taken up onto the footplate of a LMS tank locomotive, and I've never forgotten it.
I now volunteer on the Wensleydale Railway, as a crossing keeper. Having just joined the forum, I am looking forward to enjoying it to the full. |

Hello David and welcome to the Railway Forum. I don't think we have any crossing keepers on the forum. (If we do I'm sorry but I did not know). Nice to have one that I know about..

Hi David, welcome to the forum. I did a few stints as crossing keeper on the Kent & East Sussex Railway many years ago. Cranbrook Road crossing is on Tenterden Bank, so if you can have a crossing keeper there then it avoids having to restart trains on the steep gradient.
