I heard recently that some road re-surfacing companies may have a need to dispose of suitable 'ballast-like' material which they may well deliver free of charge rather than pay a dumping tax at the local landfill? Could save these guys a lot of money if they are lucky enough to find a suitable supplier in their location! They could top-off the track beds with real granite ballast to keep it looking nice.
