A train company slashes the number of weekday services from Wrexham to London, blaming the recession.

Such a shame to read this, it is great to see all of these open access operations start, and can be a great alternative to the much more well kown 'franchises' (which seem to be cutting catering, staff n'all sorts in some areas.

Whilst some services are getting caped completely, the 1523 from Wrexham will now start at Shrewsbury with a balancing working (1217 from London I think) also terminating there.

Shame this has to happen but if they're empty it's better to cut your losses and focus resources a bit more. Not a fan of how short notice these changes are (supposed to kick in next week!), but there we go.

Just read the story above this post, I don't think you could get any more 'opposite', and looking like Gc are doing well to be expanding anyway. Though to be honest I can see more pax wanting the GC service as an alternative to NXEC, whereas WSMR is much more specific market targeted (well at least until VT MoD rights have gone).
