I haven't seen Smithfield sidings for a few years, but there was never anything in there during the daytime off peak, unless a unit broke (the south eastern units that terminated at City headed south out of the sidings). That said, as they are only 8-car roads it is limiting. Granted this is a small operating window but you have to live with what you have. I think the Goods roads at Cricklewood will see more use in the short term with IMO a rebuild of the former yard as a must (but I doubt it will ever happen)
