Whatever happened to the Q trains? We used to run them up here in the north east. A load of transport bobbies on a DMU or sometimes a light loco with other transport bobbies travelling in their cars alongside the railway ready to pounce on trespassers. They used to catch loads of them. Mind you, since Railtrack and now Network Rail started putting up better fences, tresspass has dropped off quite a lot up here, but we still get a few morons.

What are the BTP going to do in the other 50 weeks a year - go back to sleep?
It annoys me to see these sort of crackdowns - they should be on the case all year round ! |

Dead right Robbo. The penalties should be more severe as well.

It's a good job the yoofs don't read BBC web pages otherwise it'd be a wasted effort. Last time I called on BTP it was for a train headed to Man Vic and they had a good 10 minutes to get there, and I get the question "will the guard hold the doors shut?" How long do they need?

Just happens I had stones thrown at the train yesterday.
Whats the point of reporting it, Incident happened at Invergordon nearest BTP Inverness over 30mins away, It don't take a genius to work out that by the time the plod get there the scroats have moved on. Mr Civil plod rarely gets involved in railway crime (unless its serious), too much hassle, paperwork for what. The courts just give a slap on the back of the hand and say don't do it again. If I had my way, When (on the very rare occasion) they actually catch one of the little scroats I would take them to their parents place of work with a uniformed officer and publically humilliate the whole famiy in front of their parents work mates. Why should we have to put up with this kind of behaviour, we are only doing a job of work to support our famillies. No doubt there will be members on here who will say that its part and parcel of being in the public service area, Just like they have a problem with traincrews getting 3 days out off 365 off at christmas and new year ![]() Les |

Heard of a driver that stopped his train and did a citizans arrest on a yoof who was throwing stuff. Got to the next stop, waited for the cops and promptly got done for false arrest.
