Transpennine Express' current fleet

I noticed that Transpennine Express have been 'numbering' their carriages so some 185s have coaches A,B,C and some have D,E,F. This is probably to help with seat reservations for trains like the 6:18 at Liverpool which leaves Liverpool as 2 185s then seperates in to a Scarborough and a Newcastle train at York.

However, some of their 170s have been numbered A and C while others D and F! This would seem to suggest they are hoping to get some middle carriages for the 170s, although I'm not aware of any services being operated by a pair of 170s. If that is the case it looks like the 185s aren't going to be made in to 4 carriage trains anytime soon, otherwise they would probably have been numbered something like A,B,D and E,F,H.

This might have changed, but previously the 09:42 Manchester Picc to Hull was made up of two 170s.

Do TP Express' 170s have different kinds of seats in standard class? When they were refurbished they were supposed to have had a first class section removed and replaced by standard class seats, but the other seats were only due to get replacement seat covers. Does this mean there's some 185 style seats with the remaining original seats?

What I actually meant was Transpennine Express implied they were replacing the seat covers on the 170s, rather than replacing the seats. At the same time it seems they've replaced six first class seats with 13 standard class seats (from the diagrams at the back of their timetable) So I trying to ask if anyone knows whether the 13 replacement seats are a different type of seat to the other standard class seats rather than if all the seats are the same colour.
