Hello there from Plotty in Loughborough
Hi, my name is Kev, the reason I use the Plotty handle is because I have an allotment. (just like Bubblewrap... in fact we are from the same town^^).
I live next door to the Great Central Railway, so close that I use the steam to brew my coffee! Now then... on our allotment we have all sorts of odd bods, an undertaker who brings his tools to the allotment in the back of his hearse, a depressive eco warrior, a 65 year old trainee solicitor, the Half Hours (won't go into why^^) and a steam locomotive driver. A couple of years ago I was fortunate enough to receive what I can only say was the best birthday present I have ever had... a footplate pass on the 4MT. For anyone who has never experienced this, it's well worth paying out some well earned English pounds... even better if it's free. Which nicely leads me onto this... Come this September, the Great Central Railway is hosting the running in of the new A1 Peppercorn class "Tornado". If everything works out, I will be getting 2 footplate passes for this exciting moment in history. My missus is not interested, so I may have the other pass up for grabs. If anyone is interested let me know. Maybe we could auction it off and give the money back to the GCR? |
