A bit of old news about the theft of Christmas puddings.
15th December 1949 800 Christmas Puddings were stolen from Wellington Street Good Depot in Leeds. A railway van driver and local grocer were arrested.

I remember once a load of christmas turkeys being stolen from the goods inward department were I was in charge of. They had been left by the butcher outside before opening time and when the stores were opened, they had gone. They managed to replace them for the christmas dinners the following day though.
