Wild abandoned railway in centre of Paris

The wild abandoned railway in the centre of Paris

For 32km (almost 20 miles) the tracks of Petite Ceinture snake through bustling Paris, isolated and largely unseen from street level in deep trenches, long tunnels, and bridges.

I came across a portion of this railway while exploring north of Montmartre earlier this year. I thought it was weird that a station was being used as a garden and a stretch of railway as a footpath, but was unable to find out what was going on. Now I know!

A pity it can't be reopened, seems a pity to have most of the infrastructure there but it being disused.
