Dual operator services.

While listening to the north west regional news this morning, I discovered that a daily Central Trains and Silverlink service has started operation again between Liverpool Lime Street and London Euston, which calls at stations that Virgin Trains do not serve.

I was wandering how successful are these? Is there a lot of blaming other operators for late or cancelled trains?
