Smile Hello from an old'un.

Just joined this forum which I found by accident.
I am a Sheffielder by birth but the wife dragged me into the Irish Sea and onto the Isle of Man two years ago. When I was a lad I lived next to the East Lincolnshire Line at Louth which has been closed for years, and getting fed up with B1s etc saved up and went to Peterborough for my first glimpse of the East Coast Main Line - hence 60074 (A3 Harvester)-the first Pacific I ever saw.I have been a member of the Swiss Railways Society since 1999 and have made regular visits to that country.
If I can post anything constructive then I will, plenty of time now I am retired.

Hi 60074, welcome to the forum. we have a few other Swiss Railways fans on this site, but we welcome anyone here. I am a Rhodesian Railways Fan and they even let me join/ Hope you have lots of railway stories to pass on and photos from the UK, IOM and Swiss Railways. As of today I have 3 years 8 months and 2 days (but who's counting) before I can join you and a few others as a retired member

Thanks for the welcome everybody.I'm not bothered if you know me as 60074 or my real name - Chris. Both of them are far more polite than others I've been known as .
I have to say that I'm not very well informed about the UK rail network, all these different liveries/companies.Why we couldn't keep the old British Railways and the lion over the wheel I don't know. However I'm not knocking the current network as passenger figures seem to be very good and freight doing well, although I'm not sure about Channel Tunnel traffic.
Anyway this is on the wrong thread,I'll go away now.
