Haifa Jenin-Jordan Railway

The EU has been asked to give funding to the Haifa Jordan railway project. This is a double track development from Haifa to Jordan which will be predominantly for high speed freight.
It will further open up Middle East markets for Europe, so be interesting to see what the EU comes up with.
As a project it looks almost complete (based on my observations from the highway) with bridge work and cuttings in the final build, although track laying is still at an early stage.
This project demonstrates that rail still has the advantage over road when large tonne age freight movements are required.
