Ticket Refund

Something I read and thought was interesting and could be a topic for discussion, any comments.

On a visit to Switzerland last year I was given a FULL refund, in cash, at the station by station staff without requesting one, because my train was 10 minites late in arriving.

For being 6 hours late 4 years ago on a journey between York and Bristol I was given £30 in rail vouchers.r

Where did you read that Alan?
I would be interested to know what the circumstances were.
Swiss trains are generally very punctual but problems do occur and I have been on ones that have arrived more than 10 minutes late with no mention of a refund.
Late running trains in Switzerland are generally less of a problem than in the U.K. because connecting services are often held or extra trains are run to compensate.

I got a £10.00 rail voucher as compo from Northern Rail for the two hour delay to my jorney home from London when i went last year.

And in there passengers chrter it only say 50% but it only mentions one hour but pretty good of them i say.

But there is alos the fact that Trains should never run late in this day and age and aslo in my letter to them i gave them a good roasting.

And they punish me for it buy putting 156's on Wigan Services especially the 07.04 from Lime St on a Saturday Morning.

So if any of the allocaters are on this forum them please put a 142 on this comming saturday as theres no need for a 156 prefrebly 142 043.

"A 150 wouldent be too bad as a last resort as it does go further than wigan"

I think it's normal for compensation to a whole number of pounds.
