well hello everyone, just joined up after seeing the advert in railways illustrated, was always intrested in railways when i was younger, in the early eighties, when i could regular see double headed 37s and 40s passing my way on the cheshire line and skelton junction, well havent been involved in anything railway related for 20 odd years until last year when i decided to take a trip up to the east lancs railway diesel gala, what a day, up close to my old favourites well that was it, hooked again now, regular buyer off the mags out there and have returned back to the east lancs on numerous occasions as well as the crewe heritage centre, hope to get out and about this year and some more galas,, just a quick question, in the late seventys or early eigthies i think, carnt remeber when, i went to a rail exhibition in manchester, called the great railway exhibition, there were numerous locos on display, does anyone else remenber this, and where about was it? or does anyone have any photos? thanks for now

Hello Ranger and a warm welcome to the forum. Would it be the "Rocket 150" celebrations that you're thinking of? Based if memory serves me right at Bold Colliery. If so theres some stuff on the BBC website about it.
www.bbc.co.uk/archive/steamtrains/7305.shtml will get you there.

Regards, 62440.
