Farish announce a Class 04!

I bought 'Railway Modeller' yesterday and the big news as far as I'm concerned is that Farish are going to release a Class 04 Drewry shunter. D2280 in green and D2294 in blue. I'm definitely having one of them! Only thing is, when will it arrive? Farish have a habit of announcing new models far in advance of the release date. Anyone think it'll be in the shops by Christmas?

Trev,

You had me really excited for a moment, I thought O4 = GCR Robinson 2-8-0!

I would plan for Christmas 2007 knowing Bachmann/Farish!

In my copy of Model Rail, there was a 32 page mag of New Products 2006.
Bachmann/Farish state that they hope to have a BR Class 03 and similar Drewry Class 04. They state it MAY appear in 2007. They also show a photo of Dual-braked 03399 preserved at Mangapps Farm in Suffolk. Dapol are to develop a Ivatt 'Mickey Mouse' 2-6-2 tender version and the 2-6-2 tank 'Micky Mouse is now a working model although there is still some work to be done.
What do modelers think of Hornbys new DCC system?

Hornby DCC.

I am hoping for great things. I am in the process of designing a layout for DCC. The choice will be Hornby or Gaugemaster. We will have to wait until September to see what happens.

Hopefully Hornby will come up with a user friendly system

I also meant to note that Hornby are reviving the GWR 4-2-2 Load of the Isles with matching clerestory coaches (last produced 25 years ago). The run will be limited to 2,500 and RRP is £120.00 Delivery is expected in the 4th quarter of 2006.

I'd prefer an 03 to be honest, as I saw more of that class, and we had a few shedded locally at Botanic Gardens. I only saw one 04, 2217 at Stratford and that was after its withdrawal.
