Very interesting and good to see some major rail investment. A major project due for completion in 6 years.

Excellent news. This is a project that has been off and on for so long that I had pretty well given it up as a lost cause.

Interesting but 20 years late. Nearly every sizable city in the world now has an underground system. Just look at Singapore on Google Earth and they have a wonderful mass tansit system, built on an island the same size as the Isle of Wight within the last 30 years! The DoT crows about building 15 miles of tunnel in how many years?
It is time that this country realised that the 21st Century has arrved and we have to catch up with the rest of the world, FAST, or get left behind.
