Algiers Tramway

Algiers Tramway

The client is the public institution of Algiers Metro Company (EMA) attended as a prime contractor by Systra and RATP Développement.
The construction contract was won by the group which includes companies Mediterail Alstom (France), Todini (Italy) and ETRHB Haddad (Algeria)
The Algerian company ETUSA will manage the operation of networks.

Hi here some new pic's of Algiers tramway
On the second picture you can see the 3 techniques used for the poses of the tram rails in Algiers, Oran and Constantine, the most surprising is that these 3 are tram built by the same company, Alstom.....

If any one can give me details on these techniques if he knows it'll be great

the pictures show three different types of rail the first is similar to that that is set in grass in places such as Bordeaux but note in the city centre the trams are not overhead fed but as far as I know powered by surface current collection and Alimentation par Sol (APS) from the centre concreted area (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground-level_power_supply )

I've attached a picture of some of their track set in tarmac (the channel type @ Oran) set in Grass (Alger ) The last one looks like it is normal ballasted rail away from areas where people could walk

Hi, no, they will not use the same system as Bordeaux in Algiers... one freind who work Thales transport in Algeria say me that Alstom use new technic there "the same wich is used in Jerusalem" but he have no more informations....

Hi
I know that they will not be using the same power system it's unique to Bordeaux at present but the track types are the same I got a little carried away with that power system but the track types are almost universal
