Barking area freight routings.

Hi.
Just curious to know how freights from the Barking area are handled to the outside world. Some seem to go via the North London Line, whilst others go via the Tottenham and Hampstead line. What is the deciding factor on what goes where ?

Regards

Colin

I would think it's availability of paths to destination.

Freightmaster would help you find the paths of freight through Barking but I would agree with 62440 that it is to do with pathing to destination

forgot to say that Freightmaster is expensive unless you are lucky and find a freebie for your area

Whatever the route all trains travel through Woodgrange Park. RA Clearances are now the same both routes. Network Rail probably prefer via T&H for Diesel services onto the Western, Southern or Midland. Freightliner services from Tilbury travel via Stratford due to Electric Haulage or 4E65 Leeds via Canonbury Jn. The only F/L Service booked over the top is the Daventry Service.
