Re class 70`s

Hi,
Last Wednesday I was down at Frodsham photographing a steam special, Just about to walk off the station when the special had left and this thing came through (I say thing because it is one ugly beast). Anyway thought you modern traction guys might appreciate it. http://i36.tinypic.com/8zmtqb.jpg

This was parked at the siding yesterday in ellesmere port docks!! the docks have three newly layed sidings.......

Best thing to do is drive them straight into the Mersey!, God they are ugly, come back the class 40`s

Someone said they are running down the Settle Carlisle and are around Keighley early evenings. Don't know anymore than that though

Class 70's remind me of a Childrens song!! "There once was an Ugly Duckling"!! I reckon thats a perfect nickname for them! And in Steam Days, they said Q1's (Coffee Pots) Were Ugly!! Positively gorgeous compared to the "Ugly Ducklings"!!!!

I overtook one on Wednesday afternoon (70008 I think) going down the A12 between Hatfield Peveral and Chelmsford. The railway runs beside the road for a few miles.

It was on an intermodal and going about 70mph
