Piece of rail

Hi All,

New to this forum so hopefully in the right place for this. Im trying to ID/date this piece of rail I recently bought. I have tried to research the markings but can't figure them out. I think they read EV A111 71.

Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Andrew

If it's UK rail then it could have been made at the Scunthorpe steelworks.

The code might be theirs rather than the railway company that purchased it.

Thanks Philip. It was bought in Dublin, Ireland. But Im guessing some track could certainly have been imported from UK?
Best,
Andrew
