Question Rail Map of MOD Lugershall

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and I am after a site map of the railway sidings at MOD Lugershall. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where to find such a thing, as I assume that one exists somewhere.

The reason I ask is that I am planning to run a rail trip for a charity on to the MOD Lugershall site and have to pick a route on to and off the site before MOD approval can be granted.

Having spoken to several rail enthusiasts recently, this would prove a very popular trip. It is also hoped that the train would then travel on to MOD Marchwood land, so a rail layout map of this site would also be required.

Is there anyone out the there who can help me.

Many thanks in advance

Kevin

Unhappy

Should have spelt the name right. I have seen that video on you tube already and helps a little bit. The MOD are not being very helpful considering that the trip will raise money for their servicemen.

No detail on Quail Maps Southern edition?
Normally to be found on the shelf at Smiths available for a 5 minute scan.

Welcome to the forum, Kevin.

Not sure what county Ludgershall is in without looking it up, but have you tried contacting the nearest town museum?

Never heard of the place, but since my rail map library is 5 feet away I can tell you that it's in Quail #5 (the green one) - "England South & London Underground"

Hope this helps

(I now know that it's near Andover - so I've learnt something today)

John

Talking Rail Map of MOD Lugershall

Many thanks for those of you who replied to my question, your help was invaluable. A sliding has been selected and access granted by the MOD to run a train with a class 37 on to the site next year for a charity rail trip to MOD Ludgershall and MOD Marchwood, probably a rare event.

Hello to You all, I'm new here too.
You have not mentioned from where you intend to run the train from, or approximately when. It is possible I may be interested in the trip if it doesn't collide with all my other commitments
I knew Ludgershall very well till 1971 and would Love a revisit, though google earth shows there's not much left of what I knew..
For those interested in the line there I would recommend www.swindonsotherrailway.co.uk
