Introdcing StoneRoad

I have just joined RailwayForum.net, as part of extending my use of the internet, I have decided to join several forums, some relevant to my interest in railways.

I have been interested in Rail transport for a great many years (and I am old enough to remember BR Steam!), and I have been involved - at several levels with various preserved/heritage railways (from 15" to standard gauge)

My other interests include transport of all kinds, and in particular heritage vehicles. (I have several motorbikes dating from the mid 1960s!)

I have been heavily involved in the rescue and restoration of the "William Riley" a pulling lifeboat, and her current use for fundraising for the RNLI.
Which, as it happens, ties in with another of my activities - I am box secretary for the Reivers Group/Branch of the RNLI.

By profession: I am a Librarian, mainly I work in the consulting engineering and design industries.
Currently, I am working for a small business specialising in Restorations and Replicas for the Heritage sector, mainly concentrating on timber items.

Thank you
StoneRoad

Hello StoneRoad and welcome to the Railway Forum. I hope you find this forum to your liking. As a 'Librarian' you would have access to a lot of information that we would find problems locating. With that back ground I'm sure you will be a very popular and welcome member of this site.

Lightbulb still around ...

I am still around, and maybe I will be able to contribute to the various fora that I visit.
I have been updating my Ipernity recently - still got a lot of images awaiting attention, so I shall be concentrating on that problem for a while !
