Thieves stole £13m of metal from railways, say police

Metal worth £13m has been stolen from the railways over the past three years, police have said.
British Transport Police said there were more than 6,000 such incidents between April 2008 and October 2011.

And that is just the "operating" stuff like signalling cables.

I don't think that it included the metals nicked from the preservation side......and which, if included, I'm guessing might almost double that £13M figure......

Its grown by another 60 signatures today and continues to attract more each day. So far this petition is laying 7th of all submitted and with your help we can really get this message accross.
