What makes you think I haven't already got into studying Britain? I started getting into the Rail Blue era a few years ago, and since then into steam.

Do I know of it? Yes. My interests lie more in the direction of freight, and railways with more locomotives.

I love hearing about freight in Canada and N America. The sheer size of the trains and the engineering challenge of getting them over mountains and down the other side is fascinating

Al Krug is quite a character. I'm sure you're familiar with his site Tristan, but if anybody on here isn't then this is well worth an oggle. He writes great 'photo essays', and when he talks about the hours and conditions it makes you realise about how freight guys are married to the job .
