Tommy

That's me. I used to watch the Tommys going over the viaduct by Newton for Hyde station from my bedroom window and often went down to Guide Bridge to see them. I have recently got interested in trains again as a result of having fulfilled my lifetimes ambition of building a layout. It was to have been BR blue period but due to having two sons who have somehow come to share my interest I'm veering now towards modern image and finding that there is much to interest me. I've even got me spotters books and got a few trips planned. Found this forum through our old friend google.

Hi Tommy and welcome to the forum, I did my apprenticeship just down the road from where you lived, and I spent my lunchbreaks watching the 76s and the Hadfield units going past.
Nice to see that your interest has been rekindled.
