Dutch Metro train crash

A Dutch Metro train has crashed through the buffer stops at De Akkers station, Spijkenisse in the Netherlands, coming to rest precariously perched on a piece of sculpture in the shape of a whale's tail!
Fortunately, the driver was the only person on board and had to be rescued and thankfully only suffering from shock.

There are some who are suggesting that this was staged as a publicity stunt, but it seems to have been widely reported as a genuine accident.

My colleagues tell me it ran through the stops. If so, it's bloody stupid place to put a set of buffer stops.

I imagine that the incident investigation report will appear here at some stage.

I am wondering if the thing had the wheel slide detector system.
